How Often Should You Get a Psychic or Mediumship Reading?

People often ask me, “How often should I get a reading?” It’s an important question, because readings are meant to support you—not replace your intuition, make decisions for you, or become something you depend on.

The right timing depends on the type of reading you’re seeking and where you are emotionally. Below is a simple, healthy framework to help you understand what’s appropriate, helpful, and grounding.

Mediumship Readings: Timing and Return Visits

Mediumship is requires emotional openness and care. For many people, one mediumship reading is enough—just one moment of connection can bring the reassurance they need to know their loved one is safe, at peace, and still connected to them.

Others may choose to come back occasionally, either to reconnect with the same loved one or to hear from others in spirit. Both are completely valid, as long as the timing supports your healing rather than interrupting it.

How often to return

  • Hearing from the same loved one: no more than once a year
  • General mediumship readings: no more than twice a year

These guidelines help keep the experience meaningful and emotionally healthy. Mediumship should never become a way to avoid grief, bypass emotions, or seek constant reassurance.

Why Waiting Matters After a Loss

While there’s no required amount of time someone must be in the spirit world before communication is possible, I strongly encourage people to wait at least six months after a close loved one passes before seeking a mediumship reading.

This isn’t because the spirit needs time—it’s because you do.

In the early months after a loss, grief is a natural, necessary process—your emotions are raw, your energy is scattered, and your heart needs time to adjust; a reading too soon can interrupt that healing.

Sometimes the loved one you’re hoping to hear from won’t come through—or won’t come through strongly—because they know it may pull you away from healing or create emotional dependence. Mediumship is meant to comfort and support, not to interrupt grief or become a coping mechanism.

Psychic Readings: Checking In Without Checking Out

Psychic readings are different from mediumship—they’re about clarity, perspective, and understanding what’s unfolding in your life. They’re not meant to make choices for you or override your own inner wisdom. Instead, they’re a way to check in, gain insight, and feel more confident in your next steps.

For many people, once or twice a year is the perfect rhythm. It gives you time to integrate what you learned, make decisions, and live your life without constantly looking outside yourself for answers.

For others—especially during big transitions or when you’re navigating intense emotions—coming a bit more regularly can feel supportive. Even then, healthy boundaries matter.

How often to return

  • Never more than every 3–4 months
  • Once or twice a year is ideal for most people
  • More frequent sessions only when you’re navigating a lot and want reassurance—not direction

The goal is always empowerment, not dependence.

Readings Should Support You—Not Replace You

Whether you’re seeking a psychic or mediumship reading, the purpose is the same: to help you feel more connected, more centered, and more confident in your own life.

A good reading should strengthen your trust in yourself, offer clarity (not control), support your healing, and encourage your own intuition—not override it.

When you space your readings in a healthy way, each one becomes more meaningful, more impactful, and more aligned with your growth.

If You’re Considering a Reading

I’m here to help when you feel called to check in—whether through mediumship or a psychic session—you’re welcome to explore what feels right for you. The goal is always to support your healing, your clarity, and your connection to yourself and your loved ones in spirit.

All my best to you.
