How Often Should You Get a Psychic or Mediumship Reading?
People often ask me, “How often should I get a reading?” There isn’t one answer that fits everyone. Readings are meant to support you—not replace your intuition, make decisions for you, or become something you depend on. The right timing depends on the type of reading you’re seeking and where you are emotionally. Below is a simple, healthy framework to help you decide when a reading is likely to be most helpful.
Mediumship Readings: Timing and Return Visits
Mediumship is meant to support your healing and growth—not replace the natural emotional processes you’re already moving through. People come for mediumship for many reasons: some are grieving a recent loss, some are reconnecting with loved ones who passed long ago, and others simply want to understand the continuity of life beyond the physical world. All of these are valid.
When to Come for a Mediumship Reading
If your loss is recent or the person was especially close to you, it’s completely normal to feel the strongest pull toward a medium right away. But even then, I strongly encourage waiting at least six months before scheduling a reading. Early grief is raw, necessary, and human—and a reading too soon can interrupt that process rather than support it.
In my experience, loved ones in spirit sometimes seem to hold back—or not come through as strongly—when they sense that a reading might pull someone away from their own healing or create emotional dependence.
Healthy timing for an initial mediumship reading
- If your loss is recent: wait at least six months before scheduling a reading
- If your loss is not recent or you’re not grieving: you’re welcome to come anytime
When—and How Often—to Return
A single mediumship reading is often enough to bring the reassurance people are seeking: knowing their loved one is safe, at peace, and still close to them. Others may return occasionally—either to reconnect with the same loved one or to hear from others in spirit. What matters most is that the timing supports your healing rather than pulling you away from it.
Healthy timing for return mediumship visits
- If you’re hoping to hear from the same loved one: wait at least one year before scheduling another reading
- If you’d open to hearing from other loved ones in spirit, wait at least six months before scheduling another reading
Mediumship should never become a way to avoid grief, bypass difficult emotions, or continually seek reassurance.
Your loved ones in spirit want you to trust their presence naturally—not rely on a medium to feel connected to them.
Psychic Readings: Checking In Without Checking Out
Psychic readings are different from mediumship—they’re about clarity, perspective, and understanding what’s unfolding in your life. They’re not meant to make choices for you or override your own inner wisdom. Instead, they’re a way to check in, gain insight, and feel more confident in your next steps.
For many people, once or twice a year is the perfect rhythm. It gives you time to integrate what you learned, make decisions, and live your life without constantly looking outside yourself for answers.
Some people come only occasionally—perhaps only when they reach a crossroads in life, or simply to reconnect with the deeper sense that life is bigger than what we perceive through our five physical senses.
For others—especially during big transitions or when you’re navigating intense emotions—coming a little more frequently can feel supportive. Even then, healthy boundaries matter.
Healthy timing for psychic readings
- Ideal for most people: once or twice a year
- More frequent sessions: only during significant life transitions and for reassurance—not to replace your own judgment or make decisions for you
- Avoid scheduling more often than every 3–4 months
The goal is always empowerment, not dependence.
Readings Should Support You—Not Replace You
A meaningful reading reminds us that we’re part of something much larger than our everyday worries and circumstances. Whether through psychic insight or communication with loved ones in spirit, the experience should leave you feeling more connected, more at peace, and more confident as you move forward.
The goal is never to become dependent on readings, but to carry that greater sense of connection, clarity, and peace into your everyday life.
If You’re Considering a Reading
If you decide the timing feels right, I’d be honored to work with you—whether through a mediumship or psychic reading. My goal is always the same: to support your healing, offer clarity, and help you trust both yourself and your connection with your loved ones in spirit.
All my best to you.
